It's silly. I sometimes fear someone can use my fingerprints to unlock my phone while I am sleeping, or, God forbid, that the LE can force me to unlock my phone with my fingerprint and turn it off but then turn it on again after I get tired of inputting 16-digit PIN on each unlock.

No! You're not being silly or stupid but smart. It's really good practice to think about potential threats and then think about what your adversaries could/would do. It is a logical step to consider the threat that someone could unlock your phone while your unconscious or asleep.
