Computer infected with ransomware on Nov 13, 2014. Warning on computer screen said all files would be encrypted unless payment made. Unable to unlock warning on screen so forced computer shutdown. After restart the files were encrypted. Viruses removed by professional computer tech but tech unable to unencrypt the Word, Excel, pdfs, music, photos and email files by scanning computer with various crypto unlock software. Now considering to completely wipe the hard drive and reload as if it were new but all files would be lost. Would like advice on how to the unencrypted the files.

The website now in each infected file is http:// paytordmbdekmizq.tanktor .com/1ptz0Qa. Could open this website up until a week ago. Website asked for Bitcoin payment. Now I am unable to open to the website.

You're infected with Cryptowall virus. We cannot restore your files unless you have backup.

You can try this tool --> http://www.shadowexplorer.com/

It maybe finds shadow copies of your files, buy I think virus already wiped that out.

What we can do is to remove the infection only.

Do not have a backup that hasn't been encrypted. Can you tell if the computer is still infected and if so please recommend a course of action to remove the infection(s).

Yes, PC is still infected:

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.
