Solved Reimage Repair pop-ups in XP, Chrome

Hello,

I have been getting pop-ups from about a week ago (sample screenshot below )

My 1st big question :

Is this malware a nuisance or can it capture online banking info such as account numbers and passwords ?

I reset Google Chrome to the factory settings and so far (5 hours+) no pop-ups appeared. Also, no blue hyperlinks in any of the website documents.
This seems to have done the trick. I also noticed that response time has improved.
Thanks for the info on resolving this as the 1st attempt at resolution
