Not sure if I should make a new post but I too have this RemoveTheAdApp 3.5 in my Chrome extensions that seems to be locked in and cannot get rid of it.
Chrome jumps to wierd websites mainly stock exchange sites that tell me if I invest $100 blah blah blah.
These websites are now invisible and do not even open in a new tab as before.
The only way kill the voice is to exit Chrome.
I have now switched to Firefox as that is not infected but wish to return to Chrome.
I uploaded the required Addition.txt, aswMBR.txt and FRST.txt

Hi,

Go to Control Panel and remove following:
- Win sys filter

Download attached fixlist.txt on the same location as FRST (otherwise the fix won't work)

Open FRST, and click Fix. Attach me that report after it is finished.

Please download zoek.zip or zoek.rar by smeenk (
Zoek_icon.png
) from here or here and save it to your Desktop.
Unpack the archive...
  • Close any open browsers
  • Temporarily disable your AntiVirus program. (If necessary)
    If you are unsure how to do this please read this or this Instruction.
  • Double click on zoek.exe to run the tool .
    Please wait while the tool does not start...
  • Copy the text present inside the code box below and paste it into the large window in the zoek tool:

    Code:
    autoclean;
    emptyclsid;
    emptyalltemp;
  • Click on
    Run%20Script%20by%20zoek.png
    button.
    Please wait until a logreport will open (this can be after reboot)
  • Save notepad to your Desktop and attach here zoek-results.log
    Note: It will also create a log in the C:\ directory named "zoek-results.log"

Wow, that was a quick reply.
Many thanks for the assistance but I managed to pull a trick here.
I found an Image backup I did on the 24th January which I re-installed using The Windows7 repair Disk.
This has put me back over a month but the problem is solved.
In future I will make image backups once a month :)
Thanks again.
