It´s time to resurrect all your old pc´s.
I ´ve got one Toshiba Sattelite buy 2002.
256 MB Ram.
My OS is Windows xp home edition and runs until more 157 days according The Microsoft.
But yesterday I download My solution:
LUBUNTU V. 13.10
After leaving my job i´ll install this Linux.

And You what your favorite OS for old pc?

Reminds me I have an Old Medion 8800 PC in the shed (I know LOL) which is running good old XP, have yet to do something with it, either make use of the Hard Drive put it into my current system or use it as a NAS... some food for thought for me indeed....

Thanks for the replies guys, you both have certainly made me give it a bit more thought (I know what I have Sunday reserved for now!) on what is possible.... :)

Depending on what I do with it, it may warrant a thread all of it's own down the line....

I think who Linux is the anti Microsoft Windows.

I ´ll instal first LUBUNTU 13.10 on my old pc, who have only 256 Mb of RAM and 20 GB Hard Disk.
I´ll format all pc and runs just Linux.

Xubuntu recommends at least 512MB of RAM if you plan to install the OS.
Lubuntu recommends the Alternative CD for Low-RAM PC's (ie. < 400MB)
See info: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/GetLubuntu

Other lightweights > http://puppylinux.org
Derivative of Puppy > http://www.macpup.org

Xubuntu will run well on lower than 512mb though. It's a very light desktop.

I didn´t get to install the lubuntu 13.10 by pen drive, because the pc not recognize usb.
I thought so save the file on dvd-r by Daemon lite.
Thanks for your advise. So I will choose not lubuntu but Xubuntu because my old toshiba (2002) have only 256 mbytes of RAM.
