In Shadow mode unless you add to the exclude list system will revert back to the same before you went into the Shadow mode.

@CMLew: Everything under on Local Disk C when activated Shadow Mode hence all changes would revert back.

Putting in exception is a tough task as to make sure everything are included unless insist to.

Per default, Shadow Mode upon start up is off so better conduct all of your changes outside virtualization.
