I also use Windscribe VPN on my Ipad. But use NextDNS on my Ipad and Iphone with OISD filter. It's enough to get rid of most ads in all my apps. It's my main security and privacy app on my Apple devices because it's ON most of the time. I also use Wipr and Hush but, since using NextDNS, I'm not sure if I need them anymore.

List of my security apps: Enpass, Microsoft and Google Authenticators, Jumbo, Wipr, Windscribe Pro, Hush and NextDNS.

Seem like a pretty secure setup. By the way, I use BlahDNS to get rid of ads and trackers. Quite happy using it.
