Samsa is a new ransomware variant,
Only there is a break in a network,
then as many systems are infiltrated within the network.
Only then the encryption is active,
and the victim will receive demands for payment
decryption!
The insidious thing about it is that it then many victims are the same, here too it is important to have a

  • to have self-sufficient backup
  • Never the extortionists to pay money
  • A once Infiltrated system remains even after the encryption Infiltrate,
ie one does not know whether other manipulations were hidden.

a more danger forms, the message the Microsoft and Canonical partner to bring Ubuntu to Windows 10.
possible Scenario:
  • Samsa ransomware break in a network,
either by the Windows PC or by the Linux server.
  • infiltrated both systems Linux network and Windows PC.

  • or a hybrid virus.

  • That was a danger Scenario

Is there any ransomware that come from software which downloaded from website? Is it a big concern for home users to worry about ransomware like enterprises?
Many ransomware files are downloaded from the web, specially from email. Some even from specific websites. Generally they are attachments that seem to be legit.

It'd be really nice if, along with anti-virus vendors updating their suites to fight ransomware, email hosts and browsers could integrate ransomware to their "simple & basic" protection (aka warnings that files about to download may be dangerous)

Nothing surprise as you know ransomware will just normally innovate, since they can already gather idea through full proof of educational concept of targeted attacks like BIOS, CPU or GPU.

If Petya is known to overwrite the MBR then expect worse symptoms as malware writers can generally make your computer very
unusable.

I cannot see new variants stopping any time soon either.
Thats right Frog, as long as there's money to be made they have plenty of incentive .

Virus authors had the incentive of reputation, anger, hatred ect.
But ohhh the power of money a wonderful motivator, not only will it "not" stop but, I am convinced that what we are seeing is the birth of a new erra.
