After talking a bit with
@plat1098 I decided also share here in public what I found after a smaller investigation on the access issue for sandboxie.com. This might perhaps go a bit off-topic so excuse me for that
@bjm_ as the thread is yours, but at least it's the right software/site.
The IP is : 50.28.48.94 and even if the site itself is not responding it works very well ping the IP without any issues. The server host is :

Even the so called nameservers ( 69.16.222.254 and 69.16.223.254 ) works flawless. I checked some DDoS sources and it don't seem as the issue. Hacked in any other way, perhaps but I don't see anything conclusive. I also tried reach out to the server host ( liquidweb ) but they refused to give any information according to there security policy. Fair enough. This makes me suspect it's either the server host or the site owner them self that for some reason shutdown the access, and if one read the official information on Sophos forum page it seems that it's the site owner/s ( the staff/owner of sandboxie.com ) that pulled the plugg. I read that official note/message twice and IMO it still makes no sense. In my view it's sounds almost like they avoid something. Why, I can only guess but anyway here's the now working official support page.

Always good that official information is shared somewhere but, personal I can't help raise my eyebrows when I read information like this.
We started experiencing issues with our servers due to a bug that is causing slowness accessing the Sandboxie site, as well as the licensing/activation options. Added to that, we found a security weakness in the software being used for the forums, and out of an abundance of caution, they were taken down for the time being.
- There is Zero issues with the servers. Even the name servers respond and works very fast.
- If an actual security weakness/issue is found in a forum software ( latest version 3.2.6 released yesterday! ) and is so serious that the forum must be closed, it's common practice and knowledge to contact the developer as him/her normally then can fix the issue within 24-48 hours. sandboxie.com been down for, 12 days?
If the Sandboxie owner/s can't simply give the real customers correct and necessary information it's a disgrace IMO. For example a genuine company customer would never accept this kind of downtime. Time is money!
One thing that I did found a bit interesting, was the so called lease ( time for ownership ) on the domain sandboxie.com. It ends already 2019-06-20. That can perhaps say something what is about to happen. Hopefully not, but wouldn't be the first time or the last.
