A new beta version of Sandboxie was announced: Get it on Sandboxie's forum

Version 3.55.01 introduces kernel-mode protection for 64-bit Windows. With the new Experimental Protection mode enabled, 64-bit Sandboxie is effectively as secure as 32-bit Sandboxie with only a couple of small differences:
1. There is no kernel mode protection for use of the EndTask API to terminate processes outside the sandbox.
2. There is no kernel mode protection that can prevent malware setting the password for a user account which does not have a password set.
3. There is no kernel mode protection that can prevent a program from writing event messages to the Windows logs.
(More info on Sandboxie's forum)

I wonder what will be better? Does Sandboxie still run 5 processes? How much ram all together?

Here you go Diesel...As far as I can tell it's light...Nevertheless I've got 4GB of RAM..so I never worry about ram usage:D

Yes .. I can understand that.I'm always looking at the CPU usage... that's what matters to me. I will try to monitor the RAM Usage and report back.

Its just that I added 4 new processes using Windows Live Family Safety. I was actually thinking about dumping it but its just to keep my Son away from porn accidentally.

Dieselman, you won't want to be using Google Chrome any time soon then.

How is the compatibility with SBIE and Chrome?

Seems like 64bits and virtualization software are on right path... I will test this software on my VM.

I read on the Sandboxie forum that don't need the drop my rights option on with the extra 64bit protection enabled.

One of the reasons for using a 32bit OS was Sandboxie.
Now that the 64bit version made a great progress I might just install a 64bit Windows.
