Good video recorder are MSI Afterburner and OBS. In both you can use your own codec and record in lossless quality. Camtasia, Bandicam etc. are lossy and in my opinion only for the recording of the desktop.

I like Nvidia Shadowplay to record games because it doesn't affect the perfomances. To record my desktop I prefer Camstasia.
