Advice Request Should I delete my old received/sent emails?

I use a local tool (Outlook 2010) to manage my web accounts . Mails are automatically deleted from external mail host few days after have been downloaded on my pc. Then, I store mails that I want to keep, on this manager, in folders by categories.
I backup the file linked to my account (that is on a drive protected by Bitlocker ) on an external USB HDD, very often.

N.B.: I'm not Paranoid

I only delete SPAM

Makes the most sense.
