Slow shutdown

I'm on windows 8.1.
Boot up and everything else is fine, also PC is clean but the shutdown is ridiculously slow!
Has anyone here got any suggestions on speeding it up as it can take 5 minutes to power down at times

PC is clean, have run several scans. The slow shutdown's been around a while though, I'll have a look at the tweaking prog. Cheers!

Assuming you didn't messed any settings by default because some Windows 8/8.1 users has a problem in restart and shut down due to 'Fast start up" (Hybrid feature) ticked on, try to turn off by going to Power Management.

Listen to James on this one. The possible reasons for slow shutdown in 8.1 are as innumerable as the stars in the sky, but the most probable would be the Power settings. A pretty far back second or third would be a Bluetooth or Video Card driver.
