out of the box/default setitings:
1/ Kaspersky ~ 2/ (emsisoft): because you didn't list it
3/ Bitdefender
4/ Norton
5/ Gdata
6/ Avast = AVG
7/ Avira pro
8/ ESET
9/ Avira free
9/ Panda

McAfee: no idea about it but assume virtually nobody uses their home products

FULLY TWEAKED/Max settings/Full potential:
1/ Kaspersky
2/ Emsisoft
3/ Avast
4/ BD
5/ Norton: would freeze your PC if do so
5/ Gdata
6/ ESET - due to HIPS, not sure where to put it because it may block everything including safe programs
7/ AVG: lacks hardened mode
8/ Avira pro - almost nothing to tweak
9/ Panda
10/ avira free - same as pro

1) Panda (current)
2) AVG
3) Avira
4) Avast
5) Bitdefender (last year)
6) TrendMicro (a lot of time ago, 2003 maybe)
7) Norton (2001, maybe)

It's not a quality list, it's only user experience/resources usage I had with them :3
Didn't try the others.

My list is:

1- Eset
2- Norton
3- Emsisoft
4- Avast
5- Bitdefender

Yes, i know i added Emsisoft, but this list is based on my experience. I never used Gdata and i don´t like Avira, AVG is for me neither good nor bad, rather the opposite :D and McAfee is a pain to me. 3 times i try it and i had 3 disappointments

6- Trend Micro
7- F-Secure
8- Qihoo
9- Comodo

These complete my list of top 10

Interesting, I agree with quite some of the lists. Speaking of classifying Internet Security suites, Evjl's Rain has well sorted them in the Default and Max settings already. I'll add my cents here.

Protection-wise (well configured)
  1. Comodo (CFW/CIS)
  2. Kaspersky
  3. Emsisoft, Bitdefender (not because of the engines. Both have some peculiar pros and cons overall)
  4. Norton
  5. Avast, AVG (ignoring Avast Hardened Mode, otherwise it would make in the top 4)(pais versions of both have added RW shields, will be interesting to see how they fare)
  6. Eset
  7. GData, Fsecure SAFE
  8. Avira Pro (probably can jump one point up)
  9. Panda
  10. McAfee
Panda, Eset, GData and Avira Pro based on Hub Tests, AV Tests and/or some video reviews. Qihoo can perhaps be kept between no 4 and 6.
If we primarily consider Ransomware protection, the numbers can change a bit due to the different approaches found in different suites.

Feature packed (and multi-layered approach)
  1. Comodo (customizable and well integrated auto-sandboxing)
  2. Kaspersky (AppControl, TAM)
  3. Norton, Eset
  4. Bitdefender '18, Emsisoft, Avast (Hardened mode can bring it higher, but I'm considering the overall provisions)
  5. AVG
  6. GData
  7. Panda
  8. Avira, FSecure SAFE

Usability-wise (Convenience x3 + Swiftness x2 + Protection average x2)
  1. Avast, AVG
  2. Eset,
  3. Kaspersky '18
  4. Norton
  5. Avira Pro
  6. Emsisoft
  7. Bitdefender, FSecure SAFE (on an average)
  8. Comodo
I won't comment on GData, Panda and McAfee since I haven't experienced them since long (GData never). Panda has issues dealing with files in certain cases and it won't come in the first half of the list for sure.

PS: The list follows from my experiences and contemporary knowledge of the overalls. This can change for me in coming days as it can for others!
