False morality is even biger issue. It is not porn that is problem here but censorship that would only start with porn material online. Human traficking is like seling drugs or illegal weapons it has nothing to do with pornography. Civili liberties are gradualy reduced in the name of security although it does not produce any results.
I agree, the UK government tried originally to put through its 'Snoopers bill' on the back of the pedophile hysteria, when that failed they used the terrorist threat. The fact is it would probably help with neither - as most of these people I assume hide their activities as has been seen by the 'dark net'.
Its easy to get hysterical and slap laws in place removing hard fought for civil liberties. My own opinion is that most people in the world are inherently good. The vast majority of people living now, and in the past have simply wanted to live normal lives, get on with their neighbours and in most cases I believe would help other people - I have known a lot of people who have in many cases stuck out their necks for me for no reason than they wanted to help, and the few people Ive known who were bad were usually that for some sad reason.
I always see the internet as an example of good. I work as an IT developer and the amount of people who have helped me solve programming issues, through the internet when I got stuck, with no reward is numerous. This site is a perfect example, you help people protect their computers. Wiki is an example. So its wrong for governments to treat most people as a threat, and monitor them. I notice that the Snoopers Bill has an exclusion clause for the very MPs who voted for it. That doesn't suggest they believe in their own legislation.
