Look who is seizing the opportunity for some cheap publicity :)

I didn't know that Kaspersky was in possession of actual UUIDs. They probably got those from a sinkhole, wonder if that is only possible with Flashback/ Mac malware.

No surprise here.... Security companies will try to exploit this incident as much as possible, lets not forget that they have a real financial interest in this matter and let us much Mac users as possible know that their OS can be/get infected.
I'm still surprised on how sophisticated this attack was and wonder which cyber criminal would have wasted so much resource into building it...
Truth be told , I wouldn't be surprise if in 10 years , when all the MAC's will come pre-installed with an AV ,we would hear that the first successful virus for MAC was created with some marginal and indirect help from the security companies.. ;)
Of course if you have a MAC and suspect an infection.. run this tools and then use an antivirus to secure your system..

Probably a wake for those users of Mac that a bulletproof OS is likely a myth and everything has a vulnerability/ exposed of threats. A lesson to have a protection at any platform.

Not a good day for Apple....from 'Macs can get infected' to 'here's the removal tool' it's a very long way....
Interesting that Apple is not offering this as a removal tool but as an ' Software update' ,nevertheless disabling the automatic execution of Java applets is a good decision....

I want to start my own malware removal service. Maybe I will approach MAC users so I can charge them double.

Java was bundled with their OS, correct?

Who ever thought of that idea should be fired. Lol.
