I'm lost how you would need a VPN for and to use a Virtual Machine?? @Tornado

I have not got any malware in the whole time in my life I've been using a virtual machine that the malware has spread to my host NEVER. :)

Yes malware can get your IP on the virtual machine, but would not get your host IP. Plus if needed Sandboxie everything. Even the Virtual Machine.

NAT is already sufficient at your case, cause the malware will only get the IP address of that VM and not Host itself. That's the good thing where developers care the possible security breach if you tweak the connection type.
