They will not get your host IP. The virtual machine will share an IP address with your host if you have it set up that way but no malware will get onto your host.

I have not got any malware in the whole time in my life I've been using a virtual machine that the malware has spread to my host NEVER.

@McLovin It is not needed but it just decreases the chance of malware gaining your IP.

Yes malware can get your IP on the virtual machine, but would not get your host IP. Plus if needed Sandboxie everything. Even the Virtual Machine.

NAT is already sufficient at your case, cause the malware will only get the IP address of that VM and not Host itself. That's the good thing where developers care the possible security breach if you tweak the connection type.
