suggestion required

Hi all,
I have an old pc running windows xp with 512 MB RAM & core2duo processor...Suggest some lightest antivirus & internet browser softwares..

Note:
Even ESET Smart security in that system looks heavy!
I have currently chrome & firefox.
I have only most essential programs.
Hard disk capacity=160 GB

Why not MSE? I think it's quite light and on an old machine like that you shouldn't need to do anything.

I agree MSE will probable best your best option. Other options would be to use Panda Cloud, custom install Avast excluding all of the Shields except for File System Shield, Script Shield and Behavior Shield. Or custom install Avira or configure it to only use the Real-Time Protection.

If MSE, Panda Cloud, customize Avast or Avira doesn't work then you are out of luck because all of the other AV's are much heavier.

Webroot its the most lightest AV i ever used and it have a decent protection.
For browsing i recommend Midori but it not support flash(20-30 mb ram consumption)another suggestion its Green Browser.

Aconselho o COMODO INTERNET SECURITY FREE, usa poucos recursos da RAM, é excelente para computadores antigos e protege mesmo.

AFAIK, this is an english forum you should post only in english.

Advise the COMODO INTERNET SECURITY FREE, uses few resources of RAM is great for old computers and protects it.
