Advice Request Telegram account got hacked.

Hii guys, I hope you are doing well, actually my girlfriend’s account got hacked one hour ago. She mistakenly gave the verification code access to a malicious bot and her account immediately got logged out. And when we try to login back from the phone number verification, the code is not coming. Hacker is sending inappropriate and scam messages to her contact. We have also reached out to the telegram hack support team, but got no relief till now. Please help me with this.

Only Telegram support team "might" help, and personally, I have doubts they will be able to do so; you willingly allowed someone to get full access to your account, and most probably all the ways to get it back have been changed in the account settings.

You're beat. Or I should say your girlfriend, and perhaps you, are beat.

Delete your girlfriend's Telegram account, uninstall Telegram, wait a while, reinstall, and build it all back to "normal".

It is likely the threat actors have data out there that you're not aware that they have access to do so. I can assure they have the time, willingness, patience and time to do it all.

To delete the account, you need first to log in, which I doubt you can.

I would certainly contact her contacts & let them know is is not her, this sort of thing sadly happens these days, it is not her fault any of us can get scammed! I don't use telegram so I don't know how it works, but maybe at least until after the holiday break do some damage limitation?? I do hope she is OK & these things can happen to the best of us...

This specific method for Telegram hacking is well-know for a long time; hundreds of posts on Reddit describe every single detail.
No security software will help, only reading, getting knwoledge, and common sense to apply the acquired knowledge.

TL;DR: If you can't receive the code, if your girlfriend didn't have 2FA set up, and if she isn't logged in with an active session anywhere, there’s no way to delete the account. The only thing to do is to warn her contacts about the account takeover.

@Wrecker4923 mentioned in the post above mine, number #7. @polar_bear, it is highly recommended to activate MFA for all instant messaging apps, as happened with Telegram on your girlfriend's account. I'm sorry to hear that, no one here at MT likes to see this kind of news. In the future, advise your girlfriend to enable MFA on Telegram. Even if a hacker manages to intercept the token, they will still need to know the MFA password.
