Tonight, Alienware revealed its smallest and most affordable gaming system yet - the Alienware X51, a mini-ITX desktop that promises o bring PC gaming to a whole new audience. Coming in well under a thousand dollars, the machine doesn't take up any more space than a gaming console: Alienware's likely target.

Gaming consoles, especially the Xbox 360 and PS3, have take a chunk out of the traditional gaming market, and for good reason. They offer a set and promised gaming experience; PCs age and stop playing the latest games, not that long after they're introduced.

Looks, like Xbox and or a PS3. Plus never really been a fan of Alienware, I prefer to build the computer myself, instead of buying these gaming computers.

Nice however its heavy on the pocket that mostly users could not afford it. Since majority of the users were mostly more in games.

It's just really a laptop put into a micro-atx case. Base price of $699 isn't a lot but I wouldn't consider this a gaming machine by any means. The 2600k OC'd to 5.2ghz with 3 gtx 580's and 2 vertex 3 max iops in raid 0 I built for my nephew is a gaming machine.

yeah really not fare for a 15yr kid to have that much power, especially when I was his age all I had was an Intel 486 running ms-dos games. Love the kid but such a spoiled brat.

It depends how you define gaming; I see, especially in laptop section, when a computer is presented as gaming computer but it's not. So it's all about definition.

But I do agree with you that it's not a gaming machine, if gaming then casual/entry gaming.

I would like to know you managed to get 5,2GHz? Is this stable frequency?

If you want you could grid (world communtiygrid, I am in team notebookreview forums) and you could fold (folding@home) with your gpu.
