New and updated security suites appear all the time, but those specifically identified as 2013 editions have almost all arrived. We've reviewed 33 security suites to help you choose which is best for you.

Now if there's someone who I do not trust with AV product reviews, Its PCMag.
Don't you just love the fact that Comodo's firewall only has a 3.5 rating on that site?

Glad you said that because I did not want to have to double post. LOL
It is a pretty sick report, indeed.
I did my best to find the most recent comparisons. I guess it did not work out so well.

Paying special attention to columns 2-4 make the reviews much more tolerable/reasonable.

Comodo and G-Data DID GET ROBBED in this comparison.

Well it gets the extra points in virus removal because it does come with Geek Buddy + Virus Free Guarantee. (So people do not get confused, Premium is Comodo IS Free)

But anyhow, There's something fishy about these tests....

OMG Notorn is one of the best. Must buy it!!1!!11

/sarc

Jokes aside, I personally don't think this will last long, as there will be some other AV's during the year of 2013 that will try and prove themselves, (or I should say spend more money).

Does not support av testing sites but In my experience Norton is one of the best protection + install & forget.

Not a fan of PCMag. Either their reviews are biased or their testing procedure is a complete failure.

Their reviews are more biased more to the point. Plus their another $$$ based review company.

I really think F-Secure is the new star with its great defenses, including its "Deep Guard" HIPS feature.

I saw where BitDefender has a "paranoid mode" in its firewall. I wonder if that is HIPS or BB, or just an overzealous firewall mode?

PC Mag review, is just another opinion, one that i do not take seriously, along with many others.

From its reality NIS 2013 have really determine a proof to show better than other suites but the case its just a neck to neck comparison due to performance, ease to use. and others.

To be fair(even though the PCMag playing field is not even to begin with) the only place where the Complete version topped the free version was in the virus removal section, with paid-support only being available in their payed version(s). Notice how neither of the two free av's included received a "green" in this section, nor a green overall rating?(I wonder why?;))

However that still makes little difference in changing my opinion of large company-made reviews. Now while there is no escaping personal opinions in any conducted review of a product, but when big testing companies are involved and with some serious monetary-related incentives on the line, the review could manipulate the review to how they see fit(especially if they like their job. :D)

Not only PCmag, but also av-test, Vbulletin and av-comparatives are sites that I tend not to trust. If I am wrong correct me.

You are basically correct the main difference with VirusBulletin is they verify that all samples used in their testing is actual malware not false positives and that the malware samples are still active and widespread within the last 90 days. They take these extra steps to make sure their testing is more accurate.

However in order to get the full reports and download the samples they require you to have a paid subscription to their service. The yearly subscription costs $175.00 on sale now for $99.00 which is very pricy.

Many PC geeks will pay that price in order to get full reports and download samples. So their financial supports comes from their subscription service, Conference and Seminar unlike other testing sites which are supported by the AV vendors.

So I would trust VirusBulletin more then the other testing sites but still wouldn't trust their results to be 100% accurate because they also have flaws.

Thanks.:D
