Oh right, I forgot about the backup, I have an image stored in an external HDD just in case. My relatives don't want me changing the software here too much so I'm stuck with AVG until I explain to them about this.

I have a friend who got Windows 8 on his netbook and it was pretty slow as heck which convinced me to upgrade to Windows 8 only on my desktop.

This netbook is still suffering from some slowdown though, I wonder what my relatives did with it...

Some addons that you could use for Firefox are, Lastpass, Ghostery, Adblock Plus and WOT.

P

Plexx

AVG ain't bad for the average use.
You could use MSE as well, but beware of the scan/removal process times. I am not a fan of MSE and when I reviewed, I gave a poor rating.

Nevertheless, taking into consideration what one might consider bad, another user will consider good.

Also to note at this moment still many online games use MSE due to its resource uses etc.

Secunia PSI 3.x

Mozilla Firefox + KeyScrambler Personal

I'll see if I can persuade them to let me get the stuff suggested since they're really paranoid of what I install. Advertisements are the main reasons that my relatives can easily infect themselves. :s
