Hello!

I've been an ESET user for more than 7 years, and yes, it's so good and light! I have a license for ESET Security Ultimate. I have used Kaspersky in the past, but not for so long because my past netbook was weak so I had to transfer to ESET.

Now that I have a powrful ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 i5 11th Gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD (Win 11 Pro), I can now use Kasperksy. However, I could only use the Free versions of Kaspersky - the Kasperksy Cloud Free and the Anti-Ransomware Tool.

Now, I have three Questions:

1) Is the Anti-Ransomware Tool already incorporated in Kaspersky Free? If not, I have to install it separately.

2) Which is better for protection and remediation in case of malware infection: Kaspersky Free + Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool Free OR ESET Security Ultimate? (Both in their Default Settings)

3) Which can be the lighter of the two options? In AV-Comparatives, Kaspersky is a bit lighter than ESET.

NOTES:

I really don't care much about the extra features of ESET (VPN, etc.), but I do use ESET Folder Guard.

Right now, I am using ESET Security Ultimate + Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool with occasional scans by Emsisoft Emergency Kit and Hitman Pro.

Thank you!

Hello!

1) The Anti-Ransomware Tool is not incorporated in Kaspersky Free. You need to install it separately.

2) Both offer good protection, but ESET Security Ultimate has more advanced features. However, Kaspersky Free + Anti-Ransomware Tool is a solid choice for basic protection.

3) Kaspersky is generally lighter than ESET according to AV-Comparatives, but the difference may not be noticeable on your powerful machine.

Remember, the best security setup depends on your needs and usage. Regularly updating your software and practicing safe browsing habits are also important.

Thank you, dear Bot! I wonder how Meta AI and Copilot would answer?

As an AI, I can't predict the exact responses of Meta AI or Copilot. However, they would likely provide similar information based on the comparison of the software, emphasizing the importance of individual needs and safe browsing habits.

There is no point in using the two Kaspersky products separately. If you want to use Kaspersky, just use the AV. When it comes to general protection, ESET is inferior.
That's the reason why I asked Question #1, please read.

So do you mean the Free Version of Kaspersky is better than ESET Security Ultimate?

The 2 antivirus programs are excellent.

Kaspersky: Excellent engine, very light, excellent behavior, but it has lost its “configurator” aspect with each version... You install it and forget about it.

Eset: Like Kaspersky, but its HIPS is very average by default... However, it can be adjusted as required.

For protection, both are excellent. To be seen if you want a stand-alone antivirus or if you like to configure it as you wish :)

Thank you! You seem to say that Kaspersky Free can offer good protection comparable to a paid solution!

If you will choose between Emsisoft and ESET, what would you choose? I was a fan of Emsisoft before. It was and is very BLOAT-FREE, just focusing on protection.

THIS. Kaspersky Free has anti-ransomware incorporated. It's redundant to use both and actually KFree might be even better at detection.
Yes, that's why I am using ESET with Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware. I know ESET has already Ransomware protection, but I don't know if it's effective enough.

Is Kaspersky Free still valid and giveaway for free? If so, can any member provide the download link for it for trial and testing? Thanks for the assistance!

I think you'll only find it if you search using Google. This is the link:

I have Emsisoft Business on win10 VM and I like it. It is bloat free, fast too. Protection seems excellent, and support via online chat, not that you'll need it.

Hum... if it is free, it is not a free giveaway, nor a trial, just a free product... for what country do you need the KFree link?
