It's my main pc. I don't need a paranoid security but if you have free utilities that can improve security, it will be cool :)

Laptop 2 : for testing, experimenting
HP 630 Notebook
Windows 7 x64 -> for malware testing
Mageia linux cauldron (dev version)
Linux from scratch (actually making one ;) )

You can ad voodooshield as anti executable for free and zonealarm firewall for free or comodo firewall ( in this case you do not need voodooshield as comodo can be configured as an anti exe as Well ) I would change defender for avast or qihoo 360. Maybe get a reliable free backup solution like macrium reflect or aomei backupper standard. The rest looks a ok to me. O before I forget get Some more on demand scanners like Hitman pro and emsisoft emergency kit. Thanks for sharing your config! :)

I don't know, i'm currently looking Av-test and Av-comparatives tests :)
I think i can help by telling you that i had it like for 2 weeks and before i had it tested on virtual machine against malware,it did a fantastic job. Overall its so light and has good detection ratio! :)

One thing for sure is that is a lite config.
If you are smart about online activity, downloads and clicks Windows 10 does offer much better protection.
Personally I like AVAST Free with Windows Firewall which is free and lite.
You could add another on demand scanner(s) such as Emsisoft Emergency Kit and or Zemana Antimalware.
Often overlooked but very important is some type of system backup solution.
Consider Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper which both have good free versions.
Thanks for sharing your config :)

I don't need a system image backup because all my files are backuped in the cloud or weekly on my external drive, if my system had a problem i have my 2nd computer ready.
Yes I think i would use Avast. Do someone have an idea about improving Windows firewall or another free software to replace it ?
Thanks :)

You can use Comodo Firewall or GlassWire or ZoneAlarm.
They are all free.

Hi @Sr. Normal 2.0, nice to talk with you again :) Yes Linux is a fantastic world !! ;)
I don't trust Lastpass because it's not opensource (so no-one can audit freely the code) and they store passwords onto their servers. So i have a little notbook hided somewhere at home :p

Hahaha my friend! What aboyt Keepass ? ;) Ah! i don´t trust in av-test or similar pages, i trust in my virtual machine ;) :)

Add Macrium Reflect Free or AOMEI Backupper.

Thanks for sharing.
Hi JM,
I have only an usb key for restore... i don't need anything else : i have a 2nd pc where i have all stuff to make a quick re-install. :)
I'm planning to migrate to Avast Internet Security... i don't know if i'll buy it or not. Doing some tests actually.

I support @JM Security in looking to add Macrium Reflect Free or AOMEI Backupper. You can use these tools with a USB as a backup source.

@TheSuperGeek AVAST Free is pretty good. Couple that with VoodooShield Free and you got your self a strong configuration with everything else you have deployed.

@TheSuperGeek: tagged temporally as Caution Your config, since no Image System Backup solution in Your system, please consider the already mentioned suggestions (Macrium Reflect Free or AOMEI Backupper).

Also may consider to add VoodooShield Free as a combo with Windows Defender, to get stronger Your real-time protection.

Thanks for sharing Your config :)
