A few things I'd suggest:

• Set UAC to Always Notify
• Add Zemana and/or Norton Power Eraser as a second opinion scanner
• Create a system image backup using Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper in case you ever need to restore your OS
• Add HTTPS Everywhere to Chrome
• You could also consider using a password manager to generate and store unique passwords for each of your accounts

If you use a third-party firewall, I assume you are using Bitdefender Internet or Total Security? Can you specify in the config field? Which McAfee version are you using as on demand scanner?

Bitdefender TS offers solid protection by monitoring all the system.
You can add Zemana Anti-Malware free or paid, as additional scanner.

Extremely. It's made by the EFF; a nonprofit organisation who defend civil rights online. Their mantra's basically that everyone deserves privacy and freedom of expression online. Think of them as the digital equivalent of the ACLU.
