Toyota has given a taste of self-drive car safety technology ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week.
The car maker revealed a video clip of a Lexus fitted with safety features designed to minimise car crashes.
The technology includes on-board radar and video cameras to monitor the road, the surroundings, and the driver.
The car can also communicate with other vehicles, according to a Toyota spokesman.
They have a lot of moxie when considering that they could not even keep their "drive by wire" systems under control a few years back. Toyota is the last brand I would use if I wanted a care that might drive itself.
I still remember seeing video of that policeman and his family driving out of control to their deaths. I don't know why he did not throw that thing in neutral, or shut it off and immediately turn the key to the forward position to retain steering control, but Toyota started the fatal process.
Don't get me wrong; I am not saying Toyota is not a good car, I am simply saying that they have seriously ludicrous audacity after the fact.
