I think if I'm told I should uninstall russian security software due to "spying" concerns, should I also uninstall american security software due to "spying" concerns. Or only the first one, or only the second one, or both. See what I mean? if we are going that way, we should be uninstalling a lot of software from our computers and they will look empty lol.

I think cruelsister is right on the money. It's more about the abuse potential than actual abuse happening right now. Imagine war/crisis times, Russia could grab a hold of Kaspersky's system in a heartbeat and use it for all kinds of attacks if every single U.S. gov't PC was running their client.

On the other hand, Kaspersky probably refuses to work with the three-letter agencies, so they're not bound to get a whole lot of love in the first place. :p

Scaremongering. The biggest menace to security is Donald Trump and his reckless disbanding of Internet rights like privacy or net neutrality. "The only thing we need to fear is fear itself." FDR

I think you have it backwards. It was your prior president obongo, who gave the internet to an a outside source not your current president Trump

wow we have become so mature that we have started blaming antivirus as if they are the sons of lesser God.
Did any govt give any suggestion to its citizens regarding how to avoid malware as strongly as they are saying about antivirus from x,y or z country
if Kaspersky is from Russia then what about chrome and Windows itself

Wait... if everybody in the world works for Russia shouldn't the NSA guy arrest himself? ;)
No , it's just a business ,dose it right that we said who work for USA companies is a 'suspect?'
Btw ,ok ,Symantec and Kaspersky work with each other,we go suspect to Symantec work for FSB !?
Sample: a USA citizen go to bar and see a Russian person, oh my god he see that Russian person , why he see that person ? dose his eye slight show that he intersted to go to join FSB! ,we said :p
It's just a paranoia from a group's of ...extremist
many company around the world work with kaspersky its not belong to "we sshould arrested them" because for their job!!
Kaspersky is on of the best well known company in the world, why russian govenment can't allow to use their information for make their system safe and secure?
not at all in Rssuia, also Uk government use Kaspersky for improve their security, also Microsoft and so many company use wide range of Kaspersky solution.
