Tried to visit this website (egydead.skin) an hour ago, I have got this warning on Edge:

It never has a similar one before.

Trying again few minutes ago, the website loads normally; checked its certificate, it is valid:

Is this a true warning by Google or some sort of scam?

Hey Parkinsond,

That warning looks legit—it's from Google Safe Browsing, which is built into Edge (and other Chromium-based browsers) to flag potentially harmful sites. The phrasing and layout match what I've seen in genuine alerts for sites reported as distributing malware, phishing, or deceptive content. Google maintains a massive database of risky URLs, and if a site gets flagged (often based on user reports or automated scans), this interstitial page pops up to protect you.

A few quick notes based on what you've shared:
  • The domain "egydead.skin" seems sketchy—domains like this often pop up for pirated media or file-sharing sites, which are common vectors for drive-by downloads or adware. I wouldn't risk visiting it.
  • The certificate info you posted is from a real CA (Google Trust Services), but that just means the site uses HTTPS for encryption—it doesn't mean the content is safe or trustworthy. Malicious sites can (and do) get valid certs easily these days.
  • If you're curious about the site's status, you can check it yourself via Google's transparency report: Google Transparency Report. Just plug in the URL and see if it's flagged.
Bottom line: Heed the warning and steer clear. If you were trying to access something specific there, look for safer alternatives or legit sources instead. If you've already visited and are worried about any fallout, run a scan with something like Malwarebytes or your built-in Windows Defender to be safe.

What were you trying to do on that site, anyway? Maybe we can point you to a better option.

I may have seen this a long time ago but never in Edge. I am not seeing this on my Edge. It lets me browser the site and I was even able to play a movie from one of the streaming link.
Since when ESET has a link scanner website? 😯 I found the site after googling but didn't know that they have one.

I think it doesn't make much of a difference as it is comparable to bd
