CPU is constantly running something because fan is working extra hard and temps are up. This seemed to always be associated with an infection in the past when the computer should be sitting idle. Checking running processes using System Explorer and under svchost.exe there are multiple copies of backgroundTaskHost.exe appearing and disappearing and RuntimeBroker.exe is constantly using CPU time. Everything else seems normal and stable. Is this an infection or something else? Thanks for you help.

Okay. This is your 3rd time asking for help here.

It is not our intent to repeatedly remove malware from the same member's machines. The intent of this free service performed by volunteers is to help remove malware from your machine, educate you on how it may have happened, and how to prevent that from happening again.

Yes, and you were very helpful in resolving the issue a year and a half ago (same problem within a couple of weeks) and I have not had that problem since. After further research on the issue I am having now, it appears that it might not be a malware issue after all, but is something different. I was just wondering if you could confirm that or not. Thank you.
