VirusTotal Scanner tool download - topic here ..

Maybe some people will find that this software is good value in their experience .. I hope: description and download link of the NEW version v2.0 on the home page on SecurityXploded.com : http://securityxploded.com/virus-total-scanner.php

' VirusTotal Scanner is the desktop tool to quickly perform Anti-virus scan using VirusTotal.com.
VirusTotal.com is a free online scan service that analyzes suspicious files using 40+ Anti-virus applications. It facilitates the quick detection of viruses, worms, trojans, all kinds of malware and provides reliable results preventing any False Positive cases.
'VirusTotal Scanner' is the desktop tool which helps you to quickly scan your file using VirusTotal without actually uploading the file. It performs direct Hash based scan on VirusTotal thus reducing the time taken to upload the file.
It comes with attractive & user friendly interface making the VirusTotal scanning process simpler and quicker. You can simply right click on your file and start the scan.
It is fully portable tool but also comes with Installer for local installation & un-installation. It works on wide range of platforms starting from Windows XP to Windows 8.

Nice tool
but I prefer this one...
http://www.boredomsoft.org/vt-hash-check.bs
It can be used in conjunction with a FF add on download status bar to automatically upload all downloads to VT

ps. sorry if this ^^ has already been spoke about here in MT

Well, too some softwares have the right click (on the process) function / Scan Online - like ProcNetMonitor: you have the choice: VirusTotal, Process Library .. link to ProcNetMonitor topic: http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Process-Network-Port-Monitoring-Tool-NEW-ProcNetMonitor-Version

XueTr: right click / Analyse Online / VirScan.org possibility.
PowerTool: right click / Scan file by upload to Virus Total.

Surely we have more softwares with this possibility.;)

Appears that Trend Micro has a lot of FPs.

Only 2 hits on VT Web Scanner
more than Trend Micro with FP's

Dr.Web and ParetoLogic

would not panic just yet

Off-Topic:

I had 3 hits from VT earlier; including Websense ThreatSeeker, seems to have gone back to 2.

View the Additional Information pages; Webutation and WOT say safe.
"Sucuri SiteCheck domain information" - Could be site scripts could be flagging the site, but always scan the downloads, if you're unsure.

Do not worry about these FP (false positives), which are common with some of these AV. MBAM sees nothing wrong: 'The scan completed successfully. No malicious items were detected '.

SecurityXploded VirusTotal Scanner

The SecurityXploded website has tools available that could be considered "hacking tools" - like password finding and recovery utilites.

Like Nirsoft's products they often get flagged up by AV's. These are false positive detections.
