  • Windscribe has confirmed a ~90% reduction in traffic from Russia
  • The provider is working to restore connectivity for affected users
  • Russia's regulator is now building a new AI-driven filtering system

@Marko :) I think it affects almost all VPNs, just in this case, they(Windscribe) decided to talk about it publicly. They already have a lot of useful features in their Vpn to bypass blocks:

- Circumvent Censorship which mimics the first part of the VPN connection as a normal internet connection to trick VPN blocks.
- They have Stealth protocol
- WStunnel(Protocol)
- They have the "Decoy Traffic", as a anti-traffic correlation feature.

Honestly... I doubt Windscribe can do something more to bypass VPN block.

I was curious and tried to connect on public Wi-Fi network at my workplace, and I never succeeded (personal WireGuard VPN works, but I have to constantly change ports). So if Windscribe can't pass my workplace firewall, I really doubt it can bypass VPN block on the national level.

@Marko :) "Public wifi at your workplace", or lets say, your workplace network. Workplace networks are infamous for being severely restricted @Marko :), for security and productivity. At least you can by-pass it;)

Use a few more VPNs as a test, to support your point and analysis, it may not just be Windscribe OR other Vpns may be more effective in that case ONLY, and vice-versa.

I tried Proton VPN and WARP too; these won't connect as well. Which is ironic considering the protocols they use are made exactly for this reason; to evade blocking and censorship.

Nothing will work unless the government allows it for intelligence or military work. Everything in those countries is banned or limited because of censorship.

The only services that work are the ones the government can intercept traffic.
