Advice Request Where can I learn how to use Windows 8.1.

Okay yesterday I ordered a new computer and it will come with Windows 8.1. ( Getting the new computer might take up to 2 to 3 weeks. ) Now so far I have been using Windows Vista and Windows 7 so I have no experience with Windows 8.1?

Is there a site or something where I could learn more about how to work with Windows 8.1? I guess it will be quit a lot different from Vista/Windows 7?

If its a pre-installed OS, then i believe it comes with some guided tile/app, where u can find it on the start screen. Use windows 8 directly, u will learn automatically !

You could look around the internet and find some guides, but normally everything would be the same if you got a start menu that looks just like the one in Windows 7.

Personally I prefer StartIsBack. Installing this makes Windows 8 indistinguishable from Win 7 (except it is better).

True enough I guess, but I usually prefer to learn things through information I can read. Videos may come in a language I do not understand, or with bad sound ... no sound while they go through things to fast for me. ( All of that is not the end of the world and solvable, but still. )

True, but knowing more about it up front is not a bad thing.

@Morro learning an updated things is not a big deal, there are just 6-10 changes in the windows 8 which we dont use them all. Its up to u if u imagine as its kind of linux. But anyway since there are many supports for this thread u may consider that as a solution. And also don't forget to checkout the default guide. And since its a fresh PC I believe it has no user account yet created, and when u are above to login first time, the Windows 8 will assist u what are what at that moment only. So i guess u dont need any guide for that! When i purchased Windows 8 for first time 2 years back, i learned the same way. Within 2 days i mastered windows 8 features.

Using 8.1 and 8 are same in functions, they are both shown metro start screen interface, the best way to start is try to explorer the OS itself by yourself. Why? Because it helps you to avoid confusion again and you learn also the flow.

Same keyboard functions too, try them wth combination on which you want to open an app or execution.

Well its just another possible way and since the OP asked then its not a problem to consult the website like Eight Forums as further suggested.
