While Google's Android mobile operating system (OS) is often deemed less secure because of its open source characteristics, PayPal believes the OS will be safer than other close-source OSes in the future as security companies pay closer attention to the software.

I do think that Android is more secure than iOS since it frequently gets updated.

Agreed, and what I have seen of compared to a iOS it has alot more options with it too.

Android is not more secure than iOS. Whereas iOS monitors its market and constantly checks/vetts applications Android does not.

It's the open nature of the software that will kill it.

At least you can keep an Antivirus application within Android to keep you more secure.
