Windows 10 64 bit 1803 or 1809 ?

A typical x64 update has ~1GB, but if the user has all previous updates, it will download only about 200MB, updates backup 3 times, but to other locations so it is most likely meant for upgrades, but 7GB is hardly enough. Just esd files take 3GB, etc, I bet they will increase it even more.

If anyone plan to update to 1809, backup your files becuz you might need to fresh install.. I just did try update Windows 10 64 bit 1803 to 1809 using iso downloading with MediaCreationTool1809 and its stuck at 43% when updating. ssd space is fine. I turn it off and roll back to 1803 just fine. Then i reinstalled clean format and its work flawless and now my file explorer works in dark mode.. :emoji_v:

Still on 1803 but I am expecting Windows will push it to my old laptop soon. Who knows?

i didnt get push so i did update with MediaCreationTool1809. So far everything good, except some issue with nvidia driver it wont install setup 417.71 version its says incompatible. I had to use DDU to remove microsoft old version and its works.

That doesn't sound good that you need to clean install a new Windows 10 build. I rather stick on an old build instead. Ain't nobody has time to do a clean install. Sure, you are going to be vulnerable without the latest security patches, but you can't infect the PC if you are not stupidity enough. Sure, you can clean install if you have less stuff on your machine, but it is not good for someone that has a lot of stuff on the PC like productivity machine.

If you CPU isn't fast they fallback to standard wim images which is large. I can confirm this on my sister's guinea pig PC which downloaded 20GB of win update because older updates were failing! And on cousin's PCs 70GB was cleared off from one PC. After cleaning them up! I grabbed the ISO and performed in-place upgrade to latest version.
