Microsoft has just released the November 2022 Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10. For Windows 11 version 22H2, this update (KB5019980) brings Tabs in File Explorer and more UI and UX improvements.

If you missed being able to access Task Manager from the taskbar, this update adds Task Manager to the context menu when you right-click the taskbar. There’s also a new taskbar overflow menu to see additional apps that couldn’t fit in your taskbar.

Microsoft has also started rolling out “search visual treatments” on the taskbar to improve discoverability. “Some devices might notice different visual treatments as we gather feedback,” the company said. Some of the experiments you may see include different versions of the search button.

In the Settings app, you can now manage your Microsoft OneDrive subscription and related storage alerts in the section dedicated to your Microsoft account. Microsoft is also rolling out an enhanced backup experience when using a Microsoft Account on Windows 11.

You can watch a detailed rundown of the UI and UX changes in this month’s Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 version 22H2 in the video below:

The KB5019961 update is also available today for Windows 11 version 21H2. It also adds Task Manager to the context menu when you right-click the taskbar, as well as improvements to Windows search results and performance.

Microsoft also released today the KB5019959 update for Windows 10 versions 20H2, 21H1, 21H2, and 22H2. Microsoft didn’t mention any new notable changes in this patch except for security updates. Windows 10 version 22H2 started rolling out last month, but the software giant didn’t share any details about new features in this update.
