Unmistakably, Windows 8 has advanced a substantial distance since the Consumer Preview came out, but rough edges still exist. The Mail app still lacks some functionality, and the Windows 8 Start screen will continue to generate controversy. But after spending some time with this build, I can confirm that it is significantly more usable than past efforts were. Whether that improvement will be enough to make naysayers to change their minds is an open question, but Build 8400 is a big leap forward.

@ReviewsAntivirus: How much RAM do you have on your Windows 8 PC?

This is Mac, 4 GB. I use Parallels Desktop :)

I allocated the virtual machine, 1 GB of RAM

For what i can get out of this preview is that there is not much difference with windows 7 to be honest. Only thing added was Aura.
It is/will be confusing for most people though, no start menu, and all things hidden on the sides.

great stuff for a tablet though

win 8 runs (normal install on my laptop), with 1,3gb RAM.

Downloading now, but 50:50 whether to install over Windows 7 or VM.

I still prefer the current Windows Explorer in Windows 7, so can the File/Menu be turned off in Windows 8?

Thanks. :D

There is something interesting I found in IE10 Metro, when you click on settings, there is an option "Get app for this site". I guess if the website offers an app you will be able to get it from that link. If not, the option is blacked out.

Its really so fast, from its mixed of criticism they've managed to continue the development so hopefully once release it will become great.

I don't really like the IE10 Metro, even if it does have Flash Player (again) now bundled to the OS.

With the IE10 Metro, it looks to plain. Yes to some people it looks good because it's simple but I like to have toolbars there like the bookmarks and what not.
