When Apple first launched its retail store operation over 10 years ago, the company decided it wanted to give the stores a more modern and high tech look. That included a lot of sleek designs like the one pictured above at the New York City Upper West side location. Apple stores also included glass doors for its store fronts. Now those same doors are the subject of a new lawsuit filed by a woman who had an unfortunate experiences with one of them.

The New York Post reports that Evelyn Paswall, 83, of New York City's Queens borough, has filed a lawsuit against Apple saying that the glass doors that it uses in its retail store locations are a "danger" to some people.

I find this rather funny. Walking into see through glass doors, then suing them. I've done it once but at the same time I was talking to someone and they forgot to tell me there was a glass door there.:p

People are stupid... It's a shame that the legal system is such that stupid cases like this aren't just laughed at.

True, but you got to wonder what silly things that people sue over. If they sue over that they will sue over some thing like, I fell over 5 metres outside that Apple store, I'm gonna sue them.

I walked into a glass window at a mall so hard one time that I thought I broke my nose. I cannot believe it did not shatter and cut me really bad.

It never crossed my mind to sue anyone over that.

What they should have is a sign saying, "See through glass. Beware" would be an option to take.

Walking into a glass window is a common accident, but it's actually our mistake. We should slow down where we expect the presence of a glass door. :D Why do we need to sue others for a mistake we do? :D

Another solution would be tinting the door or make it a bit blurred.
