I always had Root on my devices (Nexus 6, S7 Edge) but Haven't Rooted my OnePlus 6 yet, Honestly didn't feel the need to do it. Might do it in future but for now, it's rootless and running NovaLauncher and blocking AD's using AdGuard proxy mode while connected to WIFI and WindScribe built-in adblocking while on mobile data.
