Hey everyone,

I'm going to re-format my Laptop with a fresh Win10 iso. Since I like to modify the ISO (Deleting cortana, search, Edge browser, all the telemetry, etc.), I was wondering if its worth to keep Windows Defender? Or are there any other products which are more worthy?

When it comes to AV Products, I can't stand any of them, nor trust them in any way, but still.. worth it?

Keep Windows Defender, you never know when you may need it. Simply disable the background services or set to manual. No harm in keeping Windows Defender, since you already get MRT updates through Windows Updates since forever.

I personally find WD on Windows 10 to be a great pain. Most of the time it will detect and delete malware that I am attempting to transfer to a Flash Drive. The Nerve!!!!

But I guess most would not be troubled by this...

Even in a VM when the USB is connected to the VM instead to the host?
