Request Would be nice to have passkey login

OK: I've setup amazon with Windows Hello, works OK, PayPal wont do it with a Windows device only on mobile devices which is to the best of my knowledge but will do that with my mobile devices - Maybe PayPal needs to sort that? Investigating a stand alone fingerprint device as my loved expensive Cherry keyboard does not have that option. Thanks to @Oldie1950 & @TairikuOkami for info.

(Looking for my webcam though I'm supposed to be cleaning the house today but this is far more interesting)

What do you use for a fingerprint scanner on Windows please as there are few keyboards that support this now? And plz can you elaborate how you use that with Windows 11 ? (humour me as with some things tech I'm in the forefront, with others I'm an holdout) I think we or I need more info on this?
Let me start off by saying that I am using a Chinese-made metal-cased thumb-type fingerprint scanner. I have had it for more than two years, and I am very happy with it.
  1. Thumb-type fingerprint scanner on Amazon. It seems the only brand name would be Kensington. You need to make sure that it works as a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello (see the reviews too); otherwise, the description is often confusing. The thumb type would be similar to what I use.
  2. Desktop-type fingerprint scanner. This will lie flat on the surface. It's more durable, less portable, and more expensive. Both the Chinese and the Kensington desktop models appear to have similar reviews, which are usually better than the thumb type, which is less durable.
  3. Infrared-capable Camera. Unfortunately (or fortunately), any webcam wouldn't work. You need to get a more expensive camera with an infrared lens (like a Logitech version) that explicitly states it supports Windows Hello. Being expensive also means it's highly accurate, probably on the order of the iPhone/iPad Face ID. You can't fool it with a picture, or perhaps even a 3D model.
  4. You can just use the PIN to start off testing the workflow. No biometrics device is required.
You use this on Windows by first enabling login via Windows Hello, and then you register your biometrics via a working biometrics device. On a site like MWT, you would enable the passkey, which will prompt for Windows Hello authentication. Once registered, you can log in via the passkey. Also, if you have 2FA enabled, which you would have to "renew" every 30 days, instead of supplying the TOTP code, you would use the passkey instead, authenticated by Windows Hello.

"I think a simple @Jack could you please check on this?' would work perfectly. It's usually the quickest way to get a response.

@Wrecker4923 FYI, the best place for posts like this is the 'Site Issues and Feedback' section.
Yeah but the frustration is real as i only used 2fa using mail. I did send a mail to tell them the problem but i did not get any response. I couldn't skip a beat when for few days i was deprived of this wonderful community.

@Sorrento , you can try a YubiKey. I've had mine for several years. You just leave the Yubikey inserted in your USB jack and enter a PIN then touch it when needed. @$25. If you use that with gmail, you get 2FA for all the sites that you 'sign in with Google', even when they don't natively have 2FA.

Yes, it works. All my passkeys work on all platforms. On Windows, Android, and Linux without any problems. You need to change the layout in the PayPal browser from desktop to mobile device, then you register your Passkey, and then you can use your registered Passkey on all the platforms you want. ;)
