Would like help removing astromenda

Got infected using auto pilot settings provided by bitdefender (bd) total sec 2015 - so ran a full sys scan and results were that bd compiled no log and appeared to have not run any scan at all. bd failed to detect astro which wasnt surprising since infection got past bd in the first place

prepared to contact bd support and was prompted to open bd's support tool (st). followed prompts in st and when prompted to initiate sys.log - st's progress bar froze and st indicated it was finished without having done anything. emailed bd support and told them I was infected with astro and they replied that I need to run the same bd tools that I already ran and that had failed and to send bd support the logs that their tools were blocked from creating in the first place

I replied "thanks but no thanks" and so here i am

i want to remove astro, bd and be advised of a security suite that will be best suited for my use

I am a sole user at home i live in alone - no other users have a desktop, wireless router and laptop using TWcable isp

Scan with ZOEK

Please download ZOEK by Smeenk and save it to your desktop (preferred version is the *.exe one)
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Wait patiently until the main console will appear, it may take a minute or two.
• In the main box please paste in the following script:
  

  createsrpoint;
  autoclean;
  emptyalltemp;
  ipconfig /flushdns;b

• Make sure that Scan All Users option is checked.
• Push Run Script and wait patiently. The scan may take a couple of minutes.
• When the scan completes, a zoek-results logfile should open in notepad.
• If a reboot is needed, it will be opened after it. You may also find it at your main drive (usually C:\ drive)

Yes it seems astromenda is gone and also I didnt turn bd's autopilot back on so no noticeable network problems - does the log show any indication of progress?

I want to get rid of bitdefender - their safepay wallet keeps butting in and Ill never use it - the autopilot made me vulnerable to bds stupid network settings and I couldnt figure out where the problems were coming and IMO astromenda was lighter than bd. What do you think of Kaspersky? Thanks.

I notice that Astromenda is still showing on the Google home page but that could be history the same as the other sites displayed there but there is still this warning in Google Chrome settings: "Chrome detected that some of your settings were corrupted by another program and reset them to their original defaults. Learn more "

Is there more removal to be done?

So OK I reinstalled chrome but did I need to delete any stuff first? Because after I reinstalled Chrome I went to chrome settings and there is still a banner "Chrome detected that some of your settings were corrupted by another program and reset them to their original defaults.Learn more"
