You can configure CIS sandbox to "Block" any Unrecognized files; will eliminate the need for VS.

CIS, properly configured, is powerful anti-executable.

Unless you have SSD system, CIS - VS combo needlessly slows down system start.

How effective is this program, compared to the standard Google Safe Browsing and SmartScreen website protection?

Does it run at start-up or run many processes?

Can it work with Internet Explorer or Edge, without ActiveX or Plugin (ie, protect from the desktop)?

Does McAfee push notifications about a paid version or their other products? Or Ad-free?

They seem to have gone downhill IMO. I help part time here and there at a Computer repair shop where I remove Malware Malwarebytes seems to be just good marketing, and that is it. One of my go to tools now is Zeman Antimalware. And then I run Eset Rescue off of USB to clean up what Zemana Does not. A powerful duo indeed...

Good call on removing Norton Internet Security and replacing it with COMODO Internet Security.
CIS is extremely versatile and it can be one of the most powerful security products with proper configuration and use.
Consider what @hjlbx said in his post above.

off-topic I see you are a Skyrim fan, @xxtoss23 (so am I). :p
I will not be tolerating any security software blocking SKSE! :D
