Russian internet search engine Yandex has acquired the technologies of Russian information protection software developer Agnitum, reports Tdaily.ru. Yandex has also started employing the staff of the developer. The employees will continue working in the St Petersburg-based unit of Yandex. No financial details were disclosed. Yandex expects the technologies from Agnitus to improve the protection of its Yandex.Browser.

What do people think of Yandex? I've never used the browser or email myself.

Their browsers (for Windows & Android) are way slower than original Chromium ~150% in my personal test. They should better improve its speed before making it bloated :D

@Online_Sword: For such assurance since Agnitum develops Outpost as their Firewall and AV then developments may continue at all, their forum support still active until now to provide questions. ;)

I dont think there is a linux version of yandex browser yet.I suppose in some respects this will be a good merge for both companies but it would also seem to indicate that one of them may be struggling either financially or productivity wise.
