From grocery store to bank to doctor's office to insurance company to ISP to your favorite website, and everything in-between. If your data is out there on a digital system, then it is just a matter of time before it is compromised.

New York cable provider RCN recently admitted to storing customer passwords in plaintext.

2018 and the company still thought plaintext is safe. Not surprising to say the least as i am sure there are many others still doing the same thing.
