twice i have received the following prompt recently. not sure what it relates to.
"logon process has failed to create the secuirty options dialog"
"failure security options"
it usually happens when the program im using (usually firefox) is not responding for some reason.
do i need to post anything? i did the repair...the regsvr32 error still pops up when i try to run chameleon/malwarebytes
i did recall seeing the repair service focus a lot on regsvr32...i kept seeing it in the text that was scrolling by really fast in the cmd window

Settings You need to Select in OTL
Click the Scan All Users checkbox.
Change Standard Registry to All.
Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.

How to run the Combofix scan :
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.

Additional notes:
<ol><li> Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.</li>
<li> Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.</li>

no i dont...i've also connected the hard drive to my laptop, using it as an external drive and it's not being recognized.
i was scanning the computer with malwarebytes and later closed the laptop. i think it turned off while scanning was happening. would that cause a hard drive to fail?
