well defrag can only help when your resgistry is 20% fragmented, then after defrag you might get few performance improvement. The thing is that registry is loaded into RAM when Windows boots so going rocket faster will not be possible. Youget fast performance from SSD hard drrive or creating RAMdrive. Cleaning registry can be important but you must always do a backup since sometime registry cleaners can do more harm than good.
