Firewall Defense
Firewall Defense
You run the firewall of a small office. Traffic arrives one packet at a time: block the attacks, let the real traffic through.
Internet
Youthe firewall
Office
Staff PCs (anna-laptop, reception-pc, dev-laptop…), a printer (printer-2f) and a lobby camera (cam-lobby)
web01: your public website. Ports 80 and 443 are open on purpose, and you can read its web requests
nas01: the file server, for inside use only
The VPN (vpn01, WireGuard, addresses 10.8.0.x): how the admin and remote staff get in
Block (or press ← / A): the packet stops at the firewall
Allow (or press → / L): it goes through now, for a speed bonus. Do nothing and it goes through when its fuse runs out
3 shields. An attack that gets in costs one, and so does real traffic you block. Waves get faster; a wave with no mistake earns a bonus.
After waves 3, 6, 9 and 12 you pick a firewall rule. Rules stop the obvious attacks of their kind by themselves; disguised ones still need you. Waves 5, 10 and 15 are incidents.
Look at where it comes from, where it goes, which program sends it and what it is doing. A known service isn't safe by itself.
Your best run of the day earns Arena XP (up to 400) for your level and weekly league.
Demo: 10 packets, nothing is saved. Members play 15 waves with rules and incidents, and the leaderboard.
