Hello friends! Imagine money isn't an issue (if applicable). Let’s make this interesting: You can only use 3 security tools total to protect a Windows system. Rules: No overlapping functions (e.g., 2 AVs, 2 firewalls, etc.) Must cover real-world threats (malware, phishing, exploits, etc.) Usability matters (this is for daily use, not a lab setup) An extension counts as a tool in this scenario What’s your 3-tool setup, and why? ---------------------------------- Bonus: now downgrade...
We all take opsec and cyber training, but all I have to say is watch out for "your passion" questions. If I were to scrape this database and have access to who answer the question to of each poll then I would have a very nice psych and infrastructure profile of each IT professional. I will know where you are leaning towards which companies you subscribe to both at home and at work. What was tested and failed. What you and your company is exploring as an option and thus either do not have...

Thread 'What is your favorite mobile browser in 2026?'
If possible, please provide as much information as you can about your mobile browser and any extensions you use. P.S. I still use a smartphone today that would seem like a relic from the Stone Age to all of you. Huawei P30 Lite. As long as it doesn’t break, I have no interest in replacing it. My favorite browser is Firefox, which has just one extension: uBlock Origin in Hard Mode + 9TLD. When @Kongo added NoScript to his desktop browser, I felt like switching extensions on my smartphone...
Do you think we’re heading toward a fully automated world in the coming years? Will we eventually reach a point where technology handles most tasks and even cures the majority of diseases? I agree with almost everything in this video up until the ending. One thing seems certain: as AI continues to advance potentially reaching superintelligence, with the ability to think and even improve itself it’s becoming increasingly likely that many traditional jobs could disappear. If that happens...
Thread 'Our commitment to Windows quality'
Hello Windows Insiders, I want to speak to you directly, as an engineer who has spent his career building technology that people depend on every day. Windows touches more people's lives than almost any technology on Earth. Every day, we hear from the community about how you experience Windows. And over the past several months, the team and I have spent a great deal of time analyzing your feedback. What came through was the voice of people who care deeply about Windows and want it to be...
I have a bunch of complex malware files that I am trying to analyze and reverse-engineer to understand their functionality for educational purposes. I have been using the website metadefender.com for its sandbox analysis of code found in files. Unfortunately, the website does not handle large files well. Does anyone know of any alternative services that provide similar types of sandbox analysis? I should add that I am relatively a novice without any formal training so I am heavily dependent...

Because of it forwarding to your actual email account does it make the emails more vulnerable when it comes to leaks etc. Say you use simplelogin or proton etc does it make emails less secure than your actual email? Are they easier to be breached compared to a standard gmail/outlook etc?
I’ve been tweaking my security setup lately and realized I might be overdoing some things while ignoring others. Curious to hear from you all: ✅ What’s ONE security habit or tool that genuinely made you safer? ❌ What’s ONE thing you think is overrated or not worth the effort? Could be anything: antivirus, browser habits, backups, VPNs, sandboxing, etc. IMO, I think anti-executables/application control apps as a first line of defense really matter and I think not enough people care to...
