What it means
Privacy Dashboard is an Android Settings view of recent app access to permissions such as camera, microphone, location and calendar. On Android 13 it can show a seven-day period, while Android 12 shows 24 hours. It can point to an app worth reviewing, but does not reveal exactly what data was transmitted.
A real-world example
You notice the microphone indicator after a call. The dashboard lists your calling app at that time: expected. If a coupon app appears instead, open its permissions, deny microphone access and investigate whether you still need it.
What to do
Open Settings → Security & privacy or Privacy → Privacy Dashboard, select the permission, then inspect app entries. Record timestamps while still within the available history window.
The distinction that matters
An empty dashboard can mean no recorded access in its window, not that no past access ever happened. Google's Android help gives the version-dependent time span and permission-change path.
