A map app may need location while you navigate; a calculator normally does not. Permission names show what an app can request, not proof of what it did. Review the apps you actually have, beginning with recent installs and apps you rarely open.
A measured review
- Open Settings → Apps, choose an app, then Permissions. On many Android phones you can also use Security & privacy → Privacy → Permission manager to inspect one permission across apps.
- For location, camera or microphone, choose the narrowest setting that still lets the feature work, such as While using the app or Ask every time when available.
- Test the feature you care about. If it fails, restore only the permission it needs. Removing an app you no longer use is simpler than maintaining a long list of exceptions.
